Founded and based in Baltimore, MD, rhubarb rhubarb visits artists studios to discuss with them their artistic process, sustainability, and business practice. In late 2018 we will offer studios to local artists, short-term residencies for international artists, and create free and public exhibitions, performances, and events that focus on collaboration and critical conversation. rhubarb rhubarb creates a unique environment for Baltimore artists to make artwork, obtain professional advice, and opens opportunities for collaboration with visiting international residents, while also making art accessible by engaging the local neighborhood with artistic practice.

rhubarb rhubarb began in 2011 as Situation Rhubarb, based in Newcastle-upon-Tyne, England.

Sheila Gonzalez is curator and director of the newly formed art organization rhubarb rhubarb, based in Baltimore, MD. With international experience curating exhibitions, performances, and residencies, Sheila’s mission is to create opportunities for artists locally, nationally, and internationally to interact in collaborative and challenging ways, always with the audience in mind. With an emphasis on professional development, rhubarb rhubarb was created to be a resource for artists of all mediums.
